Botticelli's Birth of Venus illustrates the poignant detail of Venus's hair being bound together by what looks like a vine, or a yarn—an act reminiscent of restraint and confinement. Thrix, meaning hair in Ancient Greek, acts as a physical meditation of the concept, embodying the series of conversations and thoughts had on the duality of freedom and societal constraint.

 

To begin with, Thrix recreates the texture of Venus’s tresses through the intricate hand-draping of fabric. The silhouette itself draws directly from the path of her hair in the painting, as it drapes over her shoulder and arm, creating a shape rather organic. Atop this base lie two structured binding elements, resembling belts that weave in and out of the top, building a subtle narrative centric to the initial thought process— the idea of being trapped within the narrative of purity, and condemned to be judged for actions that have not been self-willed.

 

Thrix in this way becomes a wearable exploration of the tension between the ethereal and the grounded, embodying the essence of Venus as both liberated and contained.

In the case that you find that your measurements and ours are grossly different, and you do not fit into our sizing, we recommend that you reach out to the team about customising a piece to your measurements! Óasi offers a made-to-measure service- making pieces specifically to your size. To go ahead with this option, please purchase the product, selecting the 'custom' sizing option, our team will reach out to you to ask for your measurements, walking you through the steps on a video-call. Please note that the made-to-measure service is chargeable, unless the product specifies that it is tailor-made to the wearer's measurements.
  • INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
    We deliver globally. Our shipping rates are calculated at checkout, based upon package weight. Any duties or customs levied at the time of international shipping is bearable by the customer. Our orders are delivered through our standard courier partner. However, in the case that you have a preferential delivery agency, please let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Any extra costs incurred are to be borne by the customer.
  • I'VE PLACED AN ORDER. WHEN CAN I EXPECT IT BY?
    We ensure to dispatch your garment within 2-3 weeks from the date of the order, not taking into account possible delays caused by payment authorization. in the case that you’ve placed an order with custom sizing, please note that it may take a little longer. However, in the case that you have an urgency, or a set date you need an order by, we recommend you get in touch with the team, either on instagram or whatsapp, and we’ll make sure to do our best to fit our delivery schedule to your timeline. Estimated delivery times are to be used as a guide only. Óasi is not responsible for any delays caused by destination customs clearance processes. Óasi is unable to redirect orders once items have been dispatched. All orders require a signature upon receipt.
  • ORDERED AN INCORRECT SIZE?
    We can alter or exchange items if the garment received is of an incorrect size and doesn’t fit you as per your requirement, at any extra charge for customisation, unless the product cost is inclusive of this. If you need an exchange for a different size (or alterations) because of sizing issues, send us a message either to teamoasijournals@gmail.com. Depending on where you live and the nature of the alteration required, the time taken for your exchanged product to reach you may vary. We allow for alterations on a product only once and any shipping fee will be on the customer. In the case that you’re looking to exchange your garment, please ensure that the returned merchandise is securely wrapped and does not get damaged in transit. We request you to maintain the original packaging of the items to be returned, including the clothing tags. Óasi will not be held responsible for any items lost or damaged in transit for exchanges. It is advisable that you send any item for return to us by registered and signed-for courier. please keep all tracking details of the parcel until we confirm receipt of it.
  • DOMESTIC SHIPPING
    Óasi offers free shipping over orders worth INR 15,000. Our orders are delivered through our standard courier partner. However, in the case that you have a preferential delivery agency, please let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Any extra costs incurred are to be borne by the customer.
  • RETURN POLICY
    At Óasi, a product once bought cannot be returned. however, you have 24 hours to inform us of any manufacturing fault. In the case of a sizing problem, we are offer exchanges, provided the garment(s) being exchanged are sent back in the same condition as dispatched. Any shipping costs, customs or duties that are incurred during the exchanges process are to be borne by the customer. Manufacturing fault: whilst we maintain the strictest quality control at Óasi, if there is a product defect for which we are responsible then we can take the item back and provide you with a new one or we will fix your current product within three weeks’ time of your exchange request. Once your return is received, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. after running a quality check of the returned items and on approval of any manufacturing defect for which we are responsible, we will fix or re-make the item you purchased. Óasi reserves the right for final approval on returns.
  • I'VE WORN MY ÓASI PIECE, HOW DO I CARE FOR IT?
    Óasi pieces are made with care and tenderness, and almost all by hand. This means that all of our garments are dry clean only. Make sure to store your piece safe from sunlight and moisture. Delicate Pieces: We recommend our more delicate pieces to be steam ironed to avoid damaging the fabrics. Draped Pieces: We prefer most of our draped pieces to be steam ironed, in order to preserve the delicate draping structures, as well as ensure that the fabric is not damaged. Embroidered Pieces: We strongly urge avoiding direct application of a press iron atop any of our embroidery. In the case that you have to iron your garments, please iron them inside-out, with a piece of thin cloth in between the iron and the garment to ensure longevity. In the case that it has any embroidery, we also advise to keep it away from direct contact with perfumes, or any other form of liquid sprays, to avoid discolouration.
  • How can I have an item repaired?
    Óasi believes in a true idea of sustainability, and therefore, we’re always willing to take your garment in for fixing/alterations. Contact us at teamoasijournals@gmail.com about with your concerns and details, and we’ll see if it’s something you can get fixed with tailors near you, or have it shipped into our atelier to be dealt by us, personally, within a reasonable cost based upon the damaged assessed.
